As Chairman & CEO of USCBS, John Asher brings 18 years of experience in executive level positions including Chairman, CEO, COO and SVP for a number of companies, including a start-up venture he grew to $50 million in sales.


In addition to his role as Chairman of USCBS, Mr. Asher is Chairman of Asher Strategies. Clients include: Merrill Lynch, Raytheon, RBC Centura Bank, Outback Steakhouse and many small to medium sized businesses. Mr. Asher's talents as a speaker on sales, marketing and branding strategies have benefited over 500 CEOs and over 10,000 other executives and senior sales people.

Mr. Asher is Managing Director of Source, LLC, an investment banking firm to privately held U.S. companies in the small and medium sized enterprise market (SME). John also serves on the advisory board of the Delve Group. He is also co-founder and/or a member of the board/advisory board of three internet based technology companies, Axonom, Marix Technologies and Simulize, Inc. and three other small companies, Capstone Corporation, Pivotal Insight, Inc. and TJ Hale. Mr. Asher received a Master of Science of Administration from George Washington University and is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy.

Momo Bi

Prior to joining ASHER, Ms. Bi worked as a foreign correspondent with a Chinese newspaper, “Elite Reference.” She interned at various reputable U.S. and Chinese law firms,

in addition to working for many international organizations. The list includes firms such as King & Wood LLP, Thaler Liebeler LLP, and International Bridges to Justice. During her work with one of the most prestigious Chinese international law firms, King & Wood LLP, she helped formulate a contract pertaining to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Ms. Bi had lead several delegations of American Executives to China. Ms. Bi holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs and a minor in Political Science from the George Washington University. Ms. Bi was born and raised in Shenzhen, China and currently resides in Washington DC.

Phyllis Bergman

As the president of 64 year-old family-owned-and-operated Mercury Ring Corporation, Phyllis Bergman oversees all aspects of the company, including sales, design, operations,
marketing, and client relations. Under her leadership, the company's customer base has increased more than six-fold. Today, Mercury is one of the oldest and most established bridal jewelry manufacturers in the United States, with more than 1,800 accounts nationwide.

Phyllis Bergman is regularly sought out for her fresh perspective, and no-holds barred style of consulting on everything from design and manufacturing to lifestyle trends and relationship branding. In addition to designing and launching her own lifestyle diamond collection as well as managing Mercury Ring Corporation, Phyllis Bergman remains a dynamic force in the jewelry industry and in February 2007, Enterprising Women Magazine named her Entrepreneur of the Year. Ms. Bergman currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Jewelers Board of Trade, the American Gem Society, the Women's Jewelry Organization, the 24 Karat Club of New York and the Jewelers Vigilance Committee. She is also a member of the Woman's Presidents Organization, Independent Jewelers Organization, and a newly appointed member of the Advisory Board for the Diamond Empowerment Fund.

Lisa Becker

a Director within the Worldwide Procurement team at Pfizer Inc., is currently leading the development of the Asia Procurement organization as well as working directly with Asian

markets, including China, on sourcing and procurement initiatives.  Prior to this role, Lisa spent two years in Tokyo leading the Japan Sourcing Initiative. Over the past ten years,Lisa has been instrumental in working with internal customer groups, both at Pfizer and GSK, to deliver significant savings in Sales & Marketing and Real Estate/Facilities spend areas.

Prior to her involvement with Sourcing, Lisa provided property and facility services consultancy to clients in the UK and Europe, as well as practiced as an Architect in both the US and UK.  Lisa holds a B.A. in Architecture from the University Of Notre Dame and an MBA from the London Business School.

Camille Burns

Camille is the Vice President of Operations for the Women Presidents' Organization, a peer advisory organization for women presidents and CEOs of privately held, multimillion dollar companies. She oversees 81 groups and a membership

of 1300 women with chapters throughout the U.S., Canada, and recently London, and Lima.   Working closely with the President and Board of Directors on the global strategy, Camille has been instrumental in the rapid growth of the organization, as well as managing the headquarters office operations, events, marketing, and outreach.  
In addition, Camille is the Vice President of Operations of Women Presidents' Educational Organization (WPEO), an affiliate of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), which creates increased access to business opportunities for Women's Business Enterprises (WBEs).  
A graduate of New York University, Camille is an ardent supporter of women's economic development and is inspired to help foster women business owners through the WPO and WPEO.
Janet Carmosky

Janet Carmosky is a career China business specialist who moved to China at the age of 21, and stayed there 18 years, until 2003. Inherently attracted to start-ups, Janet held
revenue and operational responsibility in US-invested businesses in a variety of fields: import-export, technology transfer, buying agency (Wm. E. Connor & Associates), strategy consulting (Coopers & Lybrand), private equity (Richina Capital), retail, internet/systems integration (Chinadotcom), and PR (Burson-Marsteller). Janet wrote business plans for or managed nine start-ups in China, mainly in retail and professional services. After her return to the US in 2003, she worked with PR Newswire to integrate their newly established China operations into the existing global sales network. She founded China Prospects in 2005. Since then she has worked to train and advise a number of companies including Continental Airlines, Marriott, Crains, Waste Management, the Washington Speakers Bureau, Johnson & Johnson, BD, and a variety of small and medium sized manufacturers, economic developers, and tourism companies on their China strategy and communications. Among her many accomplishments, Janet is also the CEO of The China Business Network, a popular online website.

In 2006, Irwin assumed his current role as Program Director of International Programs in the Global Supplier Diversity organization. In this role, Irwin has overall responsibility for the coordination of all of IBM’s supplier diversity programs outside the US. Irwin is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. Irwin is also a member of the International Committee of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). As well as earned an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Prior to that, he received his BS from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
Andrea DaSilva

Andrea Da Silva is a Senior Policy Analyst with the U.S.
Department of Commerce in the International Trade Administration’s (ITA) Office of Service Industries. In this position, Ms. Da Silva advises U.S. and foreign officials on services trade and the digital economy. She represents ITA in multilateral and FTA negotiations, at trade symposiums and to international visitor programs. She shapes policy and creates new projects in collaboration with industry to enhance services trade and has traveled to Europe, Asia, and Canada in this capacity. Currently she is working with the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and focuses on audio-visual, professional services and WTO/GATS. She contributes regularly to the U.S.-China JCCT and SED discussions.

In her prior role working with the digital economy she was a champion for sound security and privacy tools to protect the Internet and promote successful global e-commerce. Andrea served as ITA’s project leader for the U.S. delegation to the Working Party on Information Security and Privacy of the Paris-based OECD. Her regional focus spanned Europe, South Korea and the Middle East/North Africa. She was a principal WTO and FTA advisor for e-commerce policy and has participated in high-level trade projects with Japan, India, Bahrain, Oman, U.A.E. and APEC. In 2005 she played a leading role in organizing a DOC workshop on RFID. Subsequently much of her work focused on innovation and emerging technologies. She also served as liaison to the CEO-led Global Business Dialogue on E-Commerce, and as Officer for the joint DOC-USTR High-Tech Trade Advisory Committee, where she led 40 executives appointed by Congress to advise on industry priorities.

Ms. Da Silva holds an MBA and an MA in International Development. Prior to Commerce she enjoyed a faced paced career in executive search on Wall Street. She grew up in Norway, is multilingual, and has lived in Jerusalem, New York City, Albuquerque and Washington DC. She is a member of Women in International Trade, Society for International Development and the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce

Katha Diddel-Warren

Katha Diddel started her company in Mainland China 28 years ago. It began as an import/export trading company sourcing products throughout the Peoples Repiblic of China. Five years

after founding her company, she established her business as a U.S. corporation to bring her own line of home furnishings, home decorative accessories, fine linens and gifts into the market. Now celebrating her twenty-eight year in business, she has introduced a new fashion line of handbags, a variety of totes and shoes. Her high-end products are still made by hand in cottage industries in China. Her product line is enhanced by licensed programs with well-known International and American designers.

Diddel majored in Chinese and History at Brown University and also studied fine art at Brown. She lived and worked in Hong Kong and China when she first established her company in 1980. She has been featured on radio and TV programs as well as newspapers and magazines in the U.S. and abroad.

Linda J. Denny

Linda J. Denny is President and CEO of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the leading advocate for the advancement of women-owned businesses as

vendors and suppliers to the nation’s corporations and government associations.

A nationally-recognized expert in the field of women’s business development, Ms. Denny draws upon her depth of experience from the corporate, financial services and entrepreneurial arenas to lead this multi-faceted organization into its next decade of successful growth.

During the period of time in which she served as interim president, from October 2006 to June 2007, Ms. Denny accomplished considerable goals. These included driving corporate membership and revenue growth; enhancing internal and external communications, and advancing the vision for WBENC’s global reach. Ms. Denny joined WBENC as vice president in 2003 and has since managed every component of WBENC’s operations, to include policymaking, fundraising, major national programs and events, and corporate membership.

Earlier, as national director of domestic growth markets for ING Insurance Company of America, formerly Aetna Financial Services, Ms. Denny demonstrated her talent for reaching decision makers among women’s and diverse markets by targeting and delivering on their priorities. She spearheaded and implemented what was then a revolutionary marketing strategy to surface the critical issues that women and women business owners face around financial planning and retirement, and then ensured its success by training the sales force to address those issues expertly.

As corporate vice president at New York Life Insurance Company, Ms. Denny created and led the New York Life Women's Initiative, a nationwide program that boosted the hiring, productivity and retention among women agents. Prior to this role as a compliance officer and supervising registered principal for NYLIFE Securities Inc, she was responsible for over 2000 agents/registered representatives, 240 managers and several hundred staff members working in 32 general offices in 13 states.

Ms. Denny’s aptitude for sales was evident early on as an agent for New York Life Insurance Company, where she quickly qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table, became one of the leading sales managers in the company, and by 1990 was the fifth woman to ever be appointed as a General Manager at New York Life.

Prior to that, Ms. Denny had first hand entrepreneurial experience as head of a manufacturing, home distribution and wholesale distribution business, which she ran for five years.

Ms. Denny is an active member of distinguished organizations such as The Advisory Board of the IBM-World Bank, Small/Medium Business Growth Project; the Board of Visitors for the John H. Johnson School of Communications at Howard University; the Board of Directors of the National Women’s History Museum; the W/MBE Diversity Committee for the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), the Office Depot Women’s Advisory Board, and a Founding Board Member of the, Association of Women’s Business Development Centers. She is also a member of the ASAE, Center for Association Management, and the MGM/Mirage Diversity Council. She has served as Treasurer of the Women’s Leadership Board at the Kennedy School of Government; Harvard University

Ms. Denny is a frequent speaker, and addressed women’s retirement issues at the 2000 Republican National Convention. She received the 2002 Outstanding Alumnus Award, Pittsburg State University.

Ms. Evans’ previous positions include: Director of e-business for the Enterprise Systems Group, Director of Customer Loyalty, ibm.com Director of Relationship Marketing, Distribution Channels Marketing Manager for IBM Global Financing, and Americas Project Director of e-business. She was a member of the IBM Global Relationship Management team. Her industry experience includes Computer Services, Aerospace, Industrial, Retail, Higher Education, Health, and State & Local Governments.

Denise is a graduate of Brown University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and economics. She holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She has held leadership positions in several non profits, including the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. She is a member of the Advisory Council for the Center for Excellence in Education, a member of the Board of the Montgomery County Business Roundtable for Education, a board member of the Asian Business Council and a committee leader for the Native American Chamber of Commerce.

Ping grew up in China during the turbulent times of the Cultural Revolution. She spent most of her youth tortured by Red Guards. Eventually, she was exiled to the United States

where she learned computer science. Before starting Geomagic, Mrs. Fu has more than 20 years of software industry experience in database, networking, geometry processing, and computer graphics.

Geomagic offers geometric modeling software that enables the creation of precise digital representations of three dimensional objects. A sampling from Geomagic’s impressive client roster includes numerous well-known companies such as Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, Walt Disney, 3M, Honda, Kodak, Swarovski, GE, Mattel, LEGO, and hundreds more. However, the company has not always been so successful. In early 2001, Raindrop Geomagic was almost out of cash. Ping Fu took over as president and CEO, poured her own money into the company, and worked without compensation to make sure that employees were paid. The company has been profitable since 2002, and increased its revenue by 2,105 percent during the last five years. Ping Fu has won numerous awards because of her accomplishments Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year for the Carolinas in 2003, 2003 Entrepreneurial Inspiration Award from North Carolina's Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED),"Fast 50" executive by Fast Company magazine in 2004, Entrebizneur of the Year by Business Leader magazine in 2004, Triangle Business Journal's Women in Business, Class of 2005, and Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. magazine in 2005.
XIAOBING FENG

Ms. Xiaobing Feng serves as Senior Regional Manager for China and Mongolia of the Advocacy Center located within the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. In this capacity, she works with U.S. business interests competing for international marketing opportunities worldwide.

Xiaobing’s principal responsibilities center on the development and implementation of advocacy strategies in support of U.S. companies and interests pursuing project and procurement contracts overseas. Xiaobing works with senior Commerce Department officials, officers at the Trade Promotion Coordinating Committee (TPCC) agencies, executives of U.S. companies, and with foreign decision-makers on behalf of American business interests abroad.

Xiaobing advises and counsels businesses on developing strategies to compete successfully overseas. She works closely with colleagues posted at U.S. Embassies and Consulates abroad and with contacts at foreign embassies in Washington. In addition to core responsibilities, Xiaobing serves as Liaison Officer to Special Counsel to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. She was detailed at the U.S. Embassy/Beijing in 2004, World Bank in 2006, and will be at U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in November 2008.

Xiaobing Feng has more than ten years of work experience in China as a college professor, government officer, and businesswoman. Prior to her current role, she represented U.S. companies in their bids for Chinese Government tenders, provided services including structuring business strategies and assisting clients in business negotiation and communicating with government decision-makers.

Xiaobing Feng is a native of the People’s Republic of China, and was educated in both China and the United States.

Reed E. Hundt

Mr. Hundt served four years as Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), from 1993 to 1997.

Mr. Hundt serves on the board of directors of Intel, Data Domain, Infinera, Vanu, Inc., Tropos, Telegent, Public Knowledge and serves as an Advisor to China Telcom and

E-access.  He is also a Senior advisor to McKinsey & Company, and also serves is a principal of Charles Ross Partners, an advisory firm.

Mr. Hundt is the author of You Say You Want a Revolution: A Story of Information Age Politics (Yale University Press, 2000) and In China’s Shadow: The Crisis of American Entrepreneurship (Yale University Press, 2006).

Marilyn Johnson

She is an executive with extensive management experience in sales and marketing in the information technology industry. She is a graduate of John Marshall University and holds two Masters in Education degrees. She has held leadership positions in and continues to be a member of many business and professional organizations. She is a member of the Executive Boards of the Council for Better Business Bureau and the Asian Pacific Islander American Scholarship Foundation. She currently has 12 mentees. Mr. Jesseph is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer for the Worldwide

Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP), a nonprofit, factory certification group based in Arlington, VA. WRAP certifies factories to a 12-point code of conduct covering legal, labor, environmental, security and customs compliance areas for labor-intensive consumer products manufacturing. WRAP is supported by 22 international trade and business associations has certified factories in over 72 countries.

Prior to joining WRAP, Mr. Jesseph was the Vice President for Compliance and Risk Management at Sara Lee Branded Apparel (now Hanes Brands International), formerly an operating group of Chicago-based Sara Lee Corporation. His responsibilities included environment, health & safety, product liability, social compliance and more for all operations in over 30 countries in the Western Hemisphere, Europe, Africa and Asia. Brands included Hanes, Playtex, Champion, Bali, L’eggs, Dim and Just My Size. He previously served as Executive Director for Sara Lee Corporation’s global health and safety group where he had responsibility for 154,000 employees in 55 countries.

Mr. Jesseph is the chair of the Global Responsibility Committee of the International Apparel Federation, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Graduate School for Appalachian State University. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Otterbein College and his Master’s degree from Xavier (Ohio) University. He is a native of Seattle, Washington.

Nannette Kelley

Nannette Kelley has been a Supplier Diversity Manager for 11 years. She manages diversity supplier development globally for Motorola, a $36 billion Fortune 100 company inthe wireless and

broadband communications sector. Nan has worked for Motorola for 22 years in Arizona. Her career has been in Operations and Supply Chain Management focusing on Outsourcing and Systems Integration. Nan is a BAEd graduate of the University of Arizona and has a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University and a Professional Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Arizona State University. She is also a Certified Purchasing Manager.

Nan participates on the National Minority Supplier Development Council’s International Programs Advisory Committee and the China Task Force for ethnic minority-owned businesses. Nan is also a member of the Womens Business Enterprise National Council’s Global Initiative Committee and the China Task Force for women-owned businesses.

A frequent lecturer in cross-culture communication, business planning, and development strategy, Mr. Li co-founded and serves as Vice Chairman of the National Institute for Enterprise Development, a non-profit organization helping small businesses build capacity, and compete in the global marketplace, with a primary focus in China.

Prior to his current position, he was the Vice President overseeing product and business development at the Asian Information Resources (Hong Kong) Limited, a global Internet content provider offering the international business community with China market intelligence. He also has over 5-year management experience in international banking both in Dao Heng Bank in Hong Kong, and Hua Xia Bank in mainland of China.

companies; Accurate Forming, a metal stamping company located in New Jersey and Thermodynamics, a rotational molding company operating in Oklahoma.  Shan makes products as diverse as the Lilly Insulin Pen and the largest one piece plastic pallet which is used to deploy U.S. assets to Iraq.    As CEO of Shan Sheri negotiated an agreement with a Chinese company, Szu Mao, located in Dong Guan in which Accurate would provide complex deep draw parts to be used in high end writing implements for Sheaffer Pen Company and worked with Chinese companies to manufacture molds for Thermodynamics.  Sheri sold her interest in Shan Industries in August 2008 and continues in a consulting position. Sheri is also the President of SLOCO Consulting where she counsels businesses on raising capital (equity and debt), cost reduction strategies, restructuring, customer-centric strategy, and realistic legal protections in a global economy. 
Sheri has been instrumental in raising close to $80 million in debt and equity for her entrepreneurial endeavors, some of which include the leveraged buy outs of Magnetic Data Technologies, a $60 million manufacturing group with domestic and international holdings including an operation in Shenzhen, China; Kodak’s Datatape, a $55+ million company which made high speed tape recording devices for, among other things, the Space Shuttle; Tyco International’s Accurate Forming and Thermodynamics divisions which she operated through Shan.  Sheri has also delved into real estate development and created a 20 unit upscale condominium project, the OrloVon, in the historic Adams Morgan neighborhood of D.C.

Formally, Mr. Tunison was the Senior International Credit Officer for six years, representing the U.S. Small Business Administration, in the Baltimore, United States Export Assistance Center. Prior to joining the Export Assistance Center, Mr. Tunison was a Credit Administrator for the SBA’s Office of International Trade in Washington, D.C. In that position, he was responsible for assisting with Export Finance activities, providing credit analysis and documentation risk training in support of the new Export Working Capital Program. Mr. Tunison joined the SBA, in the Investment Division, in January of 1992. The Investment Division of the SBA is charged with management of the Small Business Investment Company Program. Previous to SBA, Mr. Tunison spent over 25 years in the banking industry in San Francisco, Philadelphia, New York City and Washington D.C., with a major money center Bank, as an Executive Level Officer.
